One of our most popular (and silly) getting to know you games at camp is the name train. It’s simple to learn, even for little ones, and it’s a fun way to learn everyone’s names.
Everyone needs to stand in a circle with one person in the center to start the train. That person will walk up to someone in the circle who they do not know, shake their hand, and introduce themselves. Then, the person in the middle, will jump and cheer the person’s name 5 times, followed by shouting “Reverse!” and turn around. The new person grabs hold of the leader’s shoulders (in a train) and they go across the circle to someone else. The leader again introduces themselves to someone and whispers that person’s name back to the rest of the train. Then the entire train jumps and cheers the new person’s name 5 times, followed by “Reverse!”, turns around, grabs each other’s shoulders, and goes across the circle to find someone else to introduce themselves to. This continues until everyone is in the train.
