INTRODUCING THE 2018 STAFF TEAM
I am looking forward to serving my third summer as Cedarbrook’s Director. Prior to this role, I worked in the development office at Wheaton College (my alma mater) for seven years. Camp is in my blood as my father and brother attended and worked at Northern Frontier and I was blessed to grow up in the Cedarbrook (then Cherith) program both as a camper, CILT, and staff member. When I’m not at camp, I live in Chicago with my husband (Brendon) and son (Owen) who arrived during camp in 2016!
Hi! Camp is my home! Ok, well I actually live in Northern NJ with my dog Ronan. But camp truly is my home and family! After attending Cedarbrook as a camper, I now work full time year-round as Cedarbrook’s Assistant Director. Camp has given me a wonderful opportunity to teach and guide young girls to Christ. Through camp, God has blessed me with a group of friends that I can lean on and turn to, and with hundreds of campers, many of whom I have watched grow to accept Christ as their personal Savior. I can’t wait to see you at camp this summer!
"Adelle"Program Team Leader
There are not many places where you make lifelong friends in a weeks time, are completely immersed in an intentional Christian community, and get to spend so much time in the great outdoors! I came to camp as a young camper and made friends over 15 years ago that I still stay in touch with today. My friendships and the faith I developed while at camp helped me survive that toughest parts of my college years. Camp has also challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and have a ton of fun doing it! Camp has become a home away from home and it's my prayer that you will have a similar experience! This summer you will be sure to find me taking care of camp's critter at the Nature Nest. On the off-seasons I am an Art Teacher at Hawthrone Christian Academy.
I am pleased to be joining the Cedarbrook staff for my fourth summer. Spending 8+ weeks in the Adirondack wilderness has always been an enjoyable growing experience, and I cannot wait to share my love of the outdoors and horses with the girls who come to camp this year. This past year I have been working as an infant daycare teacher while applying to graduate programs. Camp is the dream place for me to take a break before beginning school courses in the fall.
I am beyond blessed that this will be my fourth summer at camp! Camp has been where I have not only gained life skills and great memories. But also where I have grown closer to God. The beauty of his creation is always reminded when I look at what we have around us, the lake, the pathways, animals, everything never get's old. If you ever need to find me! I'll be helping Fireback manage the stables, so come say hi!
I’m super excited to be joining camp again this year! This will be my second full summer on staff. I was a Pathfinder counselor last year and had a blast with my campers in Pine and I volunteered for a week in 2015 to help on the craft porch. This year I will be on the craft porch full time as craft specialist and I can’t wait. I attended Camp Cedarbrook (then Camp Cherith) as a kid and have so many fun memories and working there as a volunteer and counselor has reignited my love for camp. Outside of camp I am a substitute art teacher at Northport High School. I am looking forward to seeing God working in the lives of the campers as they discover more about Him.
"Lory"Office Manager/Assistant Registrar
Hey everyone! I am blessed to say that this will be my 26th year on staff! It is here that I learned to love nature, to seek our Creator, and I have made life-long friends! I attended Cedarbrook (then Cherith) as a camper and returned after collage as an activities counselor. Since then, I've enjoyed several staff positions, including Craft Porch Specialist and Photographer. For the past few years I've been the Office Manager/Assistant Registrar. I do miss working with the girls on a regular basis, but I know that the staff are doing a fabulous job! During the school year I teach computer applications at a Christian school in NJ. I am so excited to see all the things God is gong to do this summer here at Cedarbrook!
"Chicky"Outdoor Living Skills Specialist
My love for camp was fostered at New England Camp Cedarbrook where I was a camper for eight years. In 2015, I came to the Adirondacks to complete the CILT program. As I embark on the adventure of serving my third year as the Outdoor Living Skills and Fishing Specialist, I am looking forward to witnessing how God will use the programs to benefit girls’ lives. At home in Massachusetts, I am a teacher at a Christian ballet school and a volunteer in the children’s ministry at my church.
I’m Abby and I’m so excited to be working at Camp Cedarbrook this summer. I grew up in China and spent most of my life doing a lot of traveling with my family. I’m currently studying Government at Connecticut College in New London where I spend most of my time outside of class studying the Bible, playing French horn, working out, and boxing. I’m so excited to spend this summer ministering to young girls and sharing the gospel!
This is my second year on staff, last year I was a junior counselor and this is my first as a counselor! I love music, and my favorite activities are archery and sailing. All around, I love spending my summers at camp and have for 10 years now. I'm starting college at Cedarville University this fall and am majoring in Worship Arts. I am excited to come back to my work at my favorite place on earth for yet another summer.

I'm a follower of Jesus who loves people. I love to play music, sing, knit, and write. There is a time for everything under Heaven. I pray this is a summer of togetherness and of a common purpose of showing Christ to youth and to each other.
"Perry" attended Camp Cedarbrook as a child, and loved it so much she wanted to return to spread the love and support she felt here! Currently she is a student studying nursing at Roberts Wesleyan College.
Hi everyone, I'm Cada! I'm a sophomore in college and I attend Messiah College for Social Work and Criminal Justice. This is my third year on staff, and I am beyond excited to be working at camp again! It has played a huge part in my family's life for as long as I can remember. I think the best part of camp is having fun with like-minded Christians and learning about God in the great outdoors! ...and definitely tether-ball!
This will be my third summer working at camp! During the year, I teach secondary math. For fun, I like to bike, read, and swim. I am super excited to spend the summer on the lake and in God's creation.
Life just isn't the same without camp in it. Which is why after being away for three years, I am so excited to finally return for a full summer! Camp is the best place to grow in faith and confidence of Who God is and who He has made you to be. Though high ropes is perhaps my favorite place to be, my favorite THING to do is to spend time with all the amazing campers and fellow staff. Currently, I am in transition back to the States, after having taught in China for two years. There's no doubt that working at camp has prepared me for most of life's adventures! I'm looking forward to having a summer many laughs as we build lifelong friendships!
This is my 2nd year at Camp Cedarbrook. Last year I was a counselor, however this year I’ll be in the kitchen. I am currently attending University of Southern Maine, where I focus on the history and sociology of food, along with some culinary studies. Growing up I was always in the back of a restaurant kitchen and have been working in kitchens since I was legally old enough to work. I firmly believe that mealtime is a unique opportunity to engage in Christian fellowship.
Greetings. I’m Dunlin, who first went to summer camp at age 9, 56 years ago! This will be my 46th summer at Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks, after growing up at Camp Cedarbrook in Maine. God gave me my camp roots in Maine, but provided my niche in the Adirondacks. I started as a counselor and have done a variety of camp jobs over the years. My most adventurous camp job was Wilderness Canoe Trip Leader, which I did for six summers. I love teaching Canoeing on our gorgeous lake and have been the Canoeing Specialist for many years. My primary job, since 1981, as been in Program. For the last two years, I have been mentoring “the next generation” of staff members in taking over the activity program responsibilities. Adele is doing a fabulous job of figuring it all out and I am excited to be working with her, the daughter of a former canoe trip camper. The tables will turn this year, as she becomes my supervisor, and I continue to support her in the myriad of details involved supervising the activity program. I never imagined that I would serve at camp all these years, but God shaped the details of my life so it was possible.

My name is Emmy, and this will be my first summer working at Camp Cedarbrook. I have worked at my Midwest home camp since I was 14, and I look forward to growing and experiencing new things here in the Adirondacks! I am 20 years old and a junior at a Missouri Bible college. This past year I have been an 8th grade girls small group at my church, and I work at a daycare where I am primarily a toddler teacher and preschool assistant. After I graduate I plan on pursuing camp ministry full time! I'm excited for all the opportunities serving at Cedarbook will bring me!
I am so excited to be returning to camp this summer! I went to Cedarbrook as a teen and was poured into by the amazing staff. I’ve learned so much about God, his creation, the Bible, and serving over the years. I went through the CILT program and constantly reference lessons learned form that and counseling. I am originally from Syracuse, NY and just finished my undergraduate degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute! My favorite place at camp is the sailing dock!
I'm Xena and this is going to be my first year on staff! I've been coming to camp since I was a trailblazer and completed CILT in 2016. Camp has taught me so much about my faith and relationship with the Lord that I'll never ever forget. My favorite things to do at camp are canoeing and crafts, but when I'm home some of my hobbies are drinking TONS of coffee, thrift shopping and graphic makeup artistry. I'm so psyched to be coming back to one of my favorite places ever this summer!

Funny how each year my bio changes as God moves in ways like the wind. That’s why coming back for the third time on staff is so special and exciting for me. My favorite activities at camp involve spontaneous adventures in nature, ranging from cloud watching in life vests on Davignon pond, swamp stomping and overcoming fears (such as holding snakes).
