A few posts ago I challenged you to take a look at “6 Things to Look for in a Summer Camp.” Now I want to tell you why Cedarbrook is the right camp for your daughter.
Look at the mission and values.
At Camp Cedarbrook, our main goal is to nurture, love and help your daughter grow into a great Godly woman. We devote a significant amount of time to your daughter and how we can give her an experience that will change her life. She will make connections with friends and staff mentors. She will learn how to start a daily Bible devotional and begin the practice of a special prayer time with God. She will also learn how to be a strong leader. At Cedarbrook, your daughter will learn new skills that will both challenge her and help her think outside the box. Cedarbrook truly is a life-changing experience.
Check out the location.
Cedarbrook is located on its own little piece of paradise. With over 500 acres and a private lake nestled in the Adirondack Mountains, Cedarbrook is unique. The area is famous for beautiful woods and its amazing summer climate.

Compare the cost.
Cedarbrook’s mission is to minister to young girls. Even though Cedarbrook is a not-for-profit organization, there is still a weekly cost for camp. We are able to offer pricing that is less than the actual cost of sending your daughter to camp because of our many gracious donors. At Cedarbrook, we use a tiered pricing structure. There is in no way any difference in your daughter’s experience based on which one you choose. The tiered structure offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child’s camp experience. See our pricing details here.
Who do they hire?
I take pride in hiring the best staff in the country. Our number one focus is the campers, and that means making sure that they have the best leaders, mentors, and counselors we can offer. Our staff go through a rigorous application process and background check. Our staff also spend two-and-a-half weeks in training prior to camper arrival. We invest in our staff and focus on building up a strong staff community in order to make sure that they are best prepared to grow your daughters into great young women of God.
The Camp Director.
Great leaders come from Cedarbrook, and our Executive Director, Amy Culhane, is a testimony to that. Amy started her journey at Camp Cedarbrook as a young girl and grew up going to Cedarbrook. She challenged herself and completed the Camper in Leadership Training Program. Amy obtained a degree in Math and Economics from Wheaton College, but spent the best part of her year as a counselor at Cedarbrook during the summer. Amy has also spent time as an Assistant Director at Cedarbrook and was trained by Nancy Halliday, Cedarbrook’s director for 37 years.
